what inspired you to start making music, and when did it first feel like your dream was actually possible?
I had a friend named T.J. Andrews that was really good at making music and I managed him. I watched him always try to get people to work with him but never come through. I took it upon myself to help him out. It ended up being something that I truly enjoyed as an artist. I knew it was possible when I got on the Walmart commercial for [my music].
can you tell me some of the pros and cons that come with being an artist coming out of Northwest Arkansas?
There’s a lot of opportunities here, if people see you try they will support you. Because it’s so easy to say you’re a rapper here, it’s still kind of new, you can find yourself not trying as hard as artists in places with limited opportunity.
tell me about your most surreal or craziest fan experience that came from being an artist thus far?
What I find most surreal is the fans who were there before you knew you could make it big, people who talk about your first really good song.
do you feel like your goals or purpose as an artist shifted from when you first started releasing up until now? and if so , how?
When I first started out, my priorities were different. Being a good artist was my only goal, but now I also focus on being a savvy businessman. I've come to realize how much business plays a role in music and how enjoyable it is to understand and leverage it while creating music.
what is a piece of advice that you would give to an artist trying to grow in Arkansas?
Networking is the biggest key, understand business, and understand nobody has to give you anything, work hard.
if you had one last idea, statement or thought to give to the world, what would it be?
F*ck everybody. After so many years on Earth, people know when they’re wrong, don’t be fooled.
